I started a new job last week. The usual mix of introductions, meetings and trying to decipher acronyms.
This is the second new job I’ve started in the last year. It’s not what I intended. The last place decided, four weeks after I joined, to go in a different direction. They cut my role. So it goes.
I enjoy swimming, running and cycling. Independently of each other, I don’t do triathlons. But when I mention these hobbies the inevitable question I get is, “are you training for something?”
It seems like everyone kicks and swims like they are training for a triathlon.
No, sorry, I like the gentle aimlessness. I don’t want another job.
